Vermont Regulation Faculty, positioned within the bucolic village of South Royalton, has struggled lately with declining enrollment, demographic shifts, and “wobbly funds.” Consequently, VLS is rolling out new law-focused grasp’s levels and altering its identify to the Vermont Regulation and Graduate Faculty.
Karen Gross, a former president of Southern Vermont Faculty, applauded the transfer. “VLGS must be recommended for making an attempt to innovate, and I feel what they did and silo-busting, shifting packages on-line, and staying near their mission, is sensible,” Gross was quoted as saying in an Inside Increased Ed article.
So, what’s new at VLGS? Along with the legislation college’s conventional J.D. program and its grasp’s diploma program for J.D. graduates, VLGS now gives a number of grasp’s levels that won’t qualify graduates to apply legislation. Particularly:
- Grasp’s Diploma in Environmental Regulation and Coverage
- Grasp’s Diploma in Power Regulation and Regulation
- Grasp’s Diploma in Meals and Agriculture Regulation and Coverage
- Grasp of Arts in Restorative Justice
Briefly, as a number of commentators stated within the Inside Increased Ed article, VLGS is diversifying its product line; it is silo-busting, shifting the needle, and going large.
I suppose VLGS must be recommended for launching these new levels, however all this exercise begs the query:
Does Vermont even want a legislation college? In spite of everything, there are 9 legislation colleges in neighboring Massachusetts and fifteen legislation colleges in close by New York.
